A couple of years ago I went hiking with an amazing momma and I asked her what the key was to hiking with kids as they got older (my eldest at the time was in an Ergo, just a year old). She gave me some simple and long lasting advice and I have her to partially thank for how much both my children now thrive in the natural world, hiking more than I could ever imagine 3.5 year old legs were able to. So you can imagine how excited I was when she asked me to document one of their favorite things to do as a family – hiking and being out in nature. We sang songs about hiking, found fairy doors, climbed old growth, and swung on their favorite tree swing. I’m honored to have joined them on such an amazing, beautiful day. Thanks, Johnston family!
